You can freeze your unopened greek yogurt in the store-bought container, however the container will not last as long without quality changes as a freezer bag or freezer safe container.note: there is also a chance of the container tearing/bursting as the yogurt expands.
Simply toss the whole container into the freezer.
For best results, toss the container into a freezer bag before putting it into the freezer.
In Freezer bag or airtight container
Portion the yogurt into the amount you will need when you defrost it.
Spoon each portion into a freezer bag or airtight container.Note: try to use a container that is sized so there is only an inch or two between the yogurt and lid. This will minimize air and therefore minimize freezer burn.
Press any air out of the freezer bag and carefully zip it shut. Or, place the lid on your container.
Put the date on the package and place it into the freezer
In ice cube tray
Carefully spoon greek yogurt into each compartment of the ice cube tray. Leave a little room in each compartment for the yogurt to expand a little on freezing.
Stick the tray into the freezer for a few hours until the yogurt is solid.
Remove from the freezer, and pop out the cubes.
Toss the frozen yogurt cubes into a freezer bag or an airtight container.
Seal your package up:freezer bag: push out all the air and zip it closed.container: pop the lid on the top of the container.
Jot the date onto the package and toss it back into the freezer.
