Equipment

  • airtight container
  • marker or pen
  • freezer bags
  • plastic wrap
  • aluminum foilr

Ingredients

  • Cooked Sausage

Instructions

  • Cook your sausages up the way you like
  • Allow them to totally cool before continuing.
  • Take a sheet of plastic wrap and lay it flat on the counter.
  • Place whatever portion of sausage you will want when defrosting it and put it in the center of the plastic wrap.
  • Secure the plastic wrap around your sausage so that none of it is left exposed.
  • Repeat for each portion you have.
  • Toss all of the wrapped portions into a freezer bag or a freezer safe container.
  • Put the lid onto the top of your container. If using a freezer bag, press all of the air out of the bag and then close it.
  • Write the date on your package and pop it in the freezer.

Notes

Totally Cool: make sure to completely cool the sausages before getting started, otherwise condensation will build up.
Portion Correctly: know how much you will want to use when you defrost it. That way you can defrost just what you need each time.
Wrap it up:  the better you wrap it, the longer the quality will stay high while frozen.  So, especially if you are leaving them frozen for an extended time, make sure to wrap extra well.
