  • note: if you want to add a little extra protection, toss the package into a freezer bag first.

Individual or uncooked dough

  • make sure you have cooled your fresh baked naan bread. if you are using uncooked dough, section into the portion size you will need when defrosting.
  • optional: Flash freeze the bread or dough by laying it a single layer on a cookie sheet. Pop that into the freezer for an hour or so until the dough or bread is stiff.
  • Wrap your bread or dough in the portion sizes that you want with a layer of plastic wrap and/or aluminum foil. Make sure that it is completely covered and secure in the wrapping. You can add a second layer for extra protection if desired.
  • Toss your wrapped portions into a freezer bag or an airtight container.
  • Pop the lid on top of your container. Or, zip the bag shut after pushing any excess air out of it.
  • Write the date on the package and throw it into the freezer.

Notes

Cooled off: make sure the bread is fully cooled off before getting started otherwise condensation will build up in the package.  This will lead to stale or soggy bread.
Wrapped well: the better you wrap it, the more protection it will have and the longer it will maintain a high quality
Portioned Properly: it's important to portion out the the bread in the amounts you will want to use when defrosted that way you can package in in those portions and only defrost the amount you need.
