Equipment

Instructions

  • Stir it up before getting started as sometimes it can separate a little sitting in the fridge.
  • Portion it into the amounts you will want when you defrost it.
  • optional: wrap the portions in plastic wrap to provide extra protection. also, if you wrap them individually they can all go into one bag or container.
  • Spoon your portions into individual freezer safe containers or freezer bags.
  • Seal your packages shut by placing the lid on the top of the container. Or, for bags, press any air out of them and zip them closed.
  • Label the bag or container with the date and toss into the freezer.

Notes

Don't Smash it: especially during the freezing stage, be sure to not smash the cheese in the freezer.
Do it fresh: it is important to freeze it as fresh as possible so that the taste, texture and quality will still be top notch when thawed.
No air allowed: make sure to keep as much air out of the packaging as possible in order to help it maintain the highest quality.  Air will start to degrade the quality faster and produce freezer burn.
